I love ribbons. One of the reasons is that I have to mail most of my cards and ribbons add a lot of touch to a card without adding a lot of bulk!
Ribbons can do a lot. I like to use them to make a rosette! Today I'm sharing this ponytail holder that I made out of ribbon:
I know a little girl that loves hair accessories (well, a big girl like me loves hair accessories too! lol) so I've made her a ponytail holder. It was made up of retired Close to My Heart Sweet Leaf ribbon, a Sweet Leaf button and retired Bohemian assortment embellishments, and of course, a scunci. The little girl has dark hair so I'd use a black one.
This accessory is entering the challenge at Heart 2 Heart challenge - Go Green.
Isn't it cool to use our paper crafting supplies to make non-paper products?
Thanks for stopping by!
LOVE this...I'm a "big girl" that likes hair accessories too! Thanks for playing along and going "green" with H2H this week!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, that is too cute. I love the use of the ribbon as a rosette with a little bling from the button. Love it!

Oh, I love it, Joyce! Wonderful idea for that grosgrain ribbon! :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Thanks for playing with us at H2H!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I made the exact same rosette on a card this weekend, but never thought to make a hair accessory. My daughter would love that. How did you attach the buttons and elastic? I had a hole in the center of mine. Did I just need to pull it tighter? I'm not a good sewer. :) - Keri B.
ReplyDeleteHi Keri,
DeleteYup! Pull it as tight as possible. I like to run stitches to secure the buttons and cover the hole. You may also want to try hot glue. No worries if you are not a good sewer. I can't sew either. :) It is a cute gift for a girl. I'm sure your daughter will love it!
So cute! I am going to have to make one of these for my granddaughter. Thanks for sharing this with us at H2H.
