A Mother's Day card

I often receive comments from various sources that say "Christmas cards already?  It is only _____now!"

My answer is, why not?  It is the funnest time of the year and it is a good time to send a "Hello" to those that live far away from us.  Whether they follow a different religion, it is the time that most of us are happy to welcome the arrival of the next year.  A jump start to X'mas cards early will reduce stress as we all want to hunt for good deals for our loved ones (and ourselves, right?).  I can go on and on for reasons.

Having said that, I like to make other cards ahead of time too.  Today I'm starting the Mother's Day cards.  I think I sent out/given out about 30 last year so it is quite a big project.  This year there will be a couple more.  My first one this year looks like this:

All products used come from my stash.  The Colonial White Grosgrain ribbon, Sonoma paper pack, Amethyst cardstock and Frienship Alphabet stamp set have all retired.  Using up some old stuff makes me very happy as there will be room for new goodies!

This card is entering the following challenges:

1.  Bitten by the Bug 2 - 3-D rose challenge
2.  Gingerloft challenge - Ribbons and bows
3.  Dream Valley Challenges - ribbon and bling
4.  Great Impression - going green
5.  Addicted to Stamps challenge - bring on spring, lots of flowers
6.  Catered Crop - framed recipe challenge
