Birthday cards

I hope those who live in the US had a great Memorial Day weekend.

My dry eye symptoms are reappearing.  Oops.  Time spent on the screen has to be greatly reduced.  Thus I spent quite a bit of time crafting.  Yay!

My mom asked me for a few birthday cards and I'm happy to oblige.  It was quite a productive weekend and I got a few done.  They were all made from the Happy Times paper pack:

It is absolutely fun to create these birthday cards from the same paper pack.  Love the colors and patterns of Happy Times!

I'm entering my last birthday card to the following:
613 Avenue - Anything Goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
Inky Impressions - Die cuts and flowers
AAA cards - birthday bash

You are so Sweet

Ever since I spent a weekend with my niece and nephew last month, I have been thinking about making another visit.  The kiddos grow so fast that I'm afraid if they don't see me frequently enough, they will forget me!  :(

Before that happens, I am sending them a card.  For my 3.5 year old niece R, I am giving her an interactive card:

It may not look like it's interactive, but when I lay it flat and after slightly swinging it:

I absolutely love the readily made wobblers but I actually made my own this time.  It's so easy and convenient that I consider making these myself in the future. :)

My card is entering the following:
Less is More - Something that pops or bangs (The bubble gums do pop, though not when they are in their original shape).
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

Happy Times

Happy Friday!

Are you all ready for the weekend?

I am not quite ready yet.  The City is hosting a free neighborhood cleanup event this weekend and I haven't collected all the items yet.  I know I have a few old laptops and cell phones waiting for this event, and also some old computer accessories.  So tonight I'll have to dig up all of them and be ready for tomorrow's cleanup event.  This event only takes place every three years.  I don't think I want those old laptops for another three years!

It feels very good to get rid of those items that are no longer in use.  My home is being detoxed.  hahaha~

Today I'm sharing a card that I used the Happy Times paper and the coordinating stamp set.  It's clean and simple and I like that it can be used for various occasions:

I like sentiments that are generic so it can be used for different occasions.  "Happy Times" from this exclusive stamp set is one of them.  When I started making this card, I meant to use it for a birthday, but I think it could also be used for a graduate.  Both are happy occasions!

My card is linking up to the following:
Crafty Gals Corner - May Flowers
Addicted to Stamps - Clean and Simple
DLART - flowers/graduation

Happy Day

Today I'm sharing a layout using the Close to My Heart Happy Times paper packet.  It's soooo fun!  Love it!

I documented the time I spent with my little niece R at the park.  We played sand and even though we weren't at the beach, we had great fun!

I continue to emphasize the importance of documenting the little moments/details of our daily life.  Summer vacay, travel or parties are just part of our lives.  What's more important than to enjoy all little moments when they constitute most of our lives?  Years from now, I'm sure R will appreciate this page and perhaps she will show her friends how she loved playing with her aunt Joyce when she was little.  And for now, let me show this page to my friends and tell them how I love playing with my niece R.  LOL.

I'm entering this layout to the Challenge at Heart 2 Heart, we are celebrating National Scrapbooking Month!

Happy Times

I've made a couple of layouts using the May special packet Happy Times but the pictures I took were awful.  :(

I'm hoping to take pictures of them again during the day when natural light is available.

Meanwhile, let's watch a video about Happy Times:

Celebrate

I hope everyone had a great crafty National Scrapbooking Day, and a great Mother's Day!

I did spend some time crafting, despite the fact that I should focus on a million other things.  I told myself I had to carve out as little as 15 minutes on crafting because hey, it's National Scrapbooking Day!

A few layouts were made.  The most happy part was to re-live the memories of those little moments.  I am the kind of scrapper who likes to tell everyday stories rather than documenting events.  Certainly birthday parties, vacation, trips to Disney are worth documenting, but if my album shows these bigger events only, I'm afraid I might forget my everyday life, which constitutes a much bigger part of my life.

I also tried to make a few cards.  I said "tried" because I didn't finish them over the weekend.  Oops.  But I'm happy to report that I finished one today.  It's a birthday card:

This card looks familiar to you?  It's very similar to one of the cards in the Kaleidoscope Workshop except I'm using Celebrate with Cake, this month's Stamp of the Month. :)

This card will go to a Taurus girl by the end of this month.  I mentioned that I have many cards to send out this month and I'm still catching up!

My card is linking up to the following:
Seize the Birthday - birthday and/or coloring
Fussy and Fancy - birthday
Coloring in Scrapland - Celebrations
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Our Crafty Corner - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Homework

Today I'm sharing the homework I did for Clear and Sheer from Online Card Classes.

Sadly, I am a bad student.  I have not even finished watching all the videos and today's already the last day of class!  Oh no!

My two cards today involve embossing.  Have you tried embossing on acetate cards or vellum cards?  The results are stunning!

I turned them into two masculine cards.  First up, a Thank You card:

Then a card for my dad:

If you are wondering what happened to the orange stars in the Thank You card, rest assured that your eyes are fine.  It's just that I've put glossy accent over it but it has not completed dried.  (Gotta take a picture of it before the end of the class..........)

I have been enjoying the lessons in this mini class.  I would love to finish the lessons this weekend, together with some serious scrapbooking tomorrow, because it's National Scrapbooking Day!  Yay!

I'm linking my Thank You card to the following:
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes
Through the Purple Maze - Anything Goes
Cre8tive Hands Friends - Anything Goes
Crafting with an Attitude - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

May is National Scrapbooking Month and Close to My Heart is offering an exciting promotion!
With a qualifying purchase of $60, you can get the exclusive Happy Times paper packet for FREE!  The floral designs, ombre backgrounds, gold foil details featured in this paper packet are more than gorgeous!

If you like, you can purchase this exclusive paper pack at full retail price at $14.95 with no purchase requirement.  There is a coordinating D-size stamp set, Happy Times that coordinates with this fun paper packet, which you can purchase for $17.95.  Such a great time to treat yourself to some beautiful new paper and stamp!

Starting today, we have a new Stamp of the Month.  It's called Celebrate with Cake.  It is so versatile for all cardmakers!  You could build your own cake, create banners and color them using your favorite medium and more!

Another great promotion is that throughout this month, you can get 25% off from the Close to my Heart My Legacy albums.  It's $8.50 off per album!  If you have many loose pages that are waiting for a new home, this is the promotion for you!  My favorite is the Black D-Ring album.  I always prefer D-Ring album for the ease of use.  But if you mind the gap between the left and the right pages, you'll want a post-bound album.

The most exciting thing is Seasonal Expressions 2 is officially live today!  Woohoo!  Check out the new products here.  It is a great mini catalog and you'll love it!
