April is here!

Happy Friday everyone!

Anything happened on April Fool's Day yet?

Today, I'm sharing a card that used only two stamp images.  I used one of the cameras from Life in Pictures, the Stamp of the Month in April 2016 to create a colorful background, then stamped it in black, added the greeting "smile" to finish up the card.

The colors I've used are: Sunset, Canary, Lagoon, Crystal Blue and Thistle.  The colors are arranged in rainbow order, so they coordinate nicely. :)

A friend of mine is going through some difficulties.  I hope this card will bring a smile to her face.

My card is entering the following challenges:
Simply papercraft - Anything Goes
Kittybee - Friendship
Stamping with Dragon - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes
Crafting with Friends - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
A Beautiful Mess - Anything Goes

I'm off to spend the weekend with my lovely niece and nephew.  Have a great weekend!  When I return I'll share more about the April specials. :)

Let's Ketchup!

Ever since I have received the latest Lawn fawn products, I am playing with them non-stop!  Today I'm sharing a summer-themed card that's perfect to send out to those I haven't seen for a while:

I love the images of this set called Let's BBQ.  The burger, hot dog, ketchup, steak, sausage all look too cute!  My favorite is the sentiment that says "we should ketchup".  I used the ketchup part and add "lets" from the Party Animal set (That sentiment says "Let's party") on my card.  I wanted to make it look like the ketchup bottle is being squeezed for to add ketchup on the hot dog, so I added two drops between them.  I am a bit concerned that it looks like Tabasco more than ketchup.  Oh well, the sentiment to clarify that. :)

Summer is traditionally the time that I meet up with friends from school.  I'm so happy that this set gives me a great opportunity to make a card like this that's perfect for the occasion.

Enjoy Your Day!

I was extremely busy this past weekend as I was continuing the Lunar New Year's celebration, coupled with the arrival of a little guy in our extended family.  Both Nathan and his mom are doing great!  We cannot be more excited.

I didn't take a picture of the welcome baby card, as I was in a rush to the hospital.  In fact, after taking a gazillion pictures in the hospital, I am not sure how to adjust the settings back to taking pictures indoors.  I keep thinking that this card could use some photography skills:

I haven't decided if I will give this card out soon.  I like having it on my work desk to remind me to enjoy my day. :)

I'm linking up my card to the following:

Hello

I'm continuing my project of preparing Hello/Friendship cards.  As I was thinking of my friend while making this card, I can't think of anything better than something playful for her:

This is a simple card but I do like it a lot!  The bright colors of the card surely give me a lot of positive energy and I think it will bring happiness to my friend!

I'm using the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday:

Too bad I missed to deadline to link up but I can't resist to play along. :)

My card is linking up to:
My time to create - Wildlife
Sweet Stampin - Easter
Time 4 scrap - Easter
Bearly Mine - Spring
Aud Sentiment - Easter/Spring sentiment

Friends Forever

I think it has been a while since I said Hello to those that do not live close by.  How about sending them a friendship card?

I do not make many friendship cards but I like making them a lot because even though not all my friends are crafting they like my cards and they reply with a letter that tells me how they are.  That letter coming through the mail man means so much to me!

I love the Ivy Lane paper from Close to My Heart.  I like the color combo of green and purple.  Did you know that these colors are exclusive to the Ivy Lane paper?  They are so pretty.  I was at first a bit intimated by these special colors but everything I needed is in the workshop on the go, so there is really no need to look further.

This card is perfect to link up to the Color My Heart challenge:

It is also linking up to

Textures on One-Layer card - Embossing Paste

I'm back with another card with some textures - this time with translucent embossing paste.  But don't you just love more colors on your cards?  Before I put on the embossing paste I sponged distress inks over the butterflies:

I've used Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Salty Ocean and Shaded Lilac on the butterflies.  I've used the new Mini Ink Blending Tools to put color on the butterflies and this mini tool works so much easier than its big sister when it comes to small areas like the purple and pink butterflies.  Love this new toy, oops I meant tool. :)

These colorful butterflies totally remind me of spring, what do you think?

Hello Tweety

A friend of mine just shared some good news with me.  I thought about sending her a "Congrats" card but I am more inclined to send her a "Hello Friend" card because, other than sending her congrats, I want to write a lot of things to her.

I based my card on the sketch at Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge:

Upon completion of my card I realized I've inadvertently modified the sketch a little bit:

I love love love the "hello tweety" sentiment.  So darling cute and I'm sure my friend will love it.

Have you recently send any cards to a friend?  I think a card sent without any specific purpose is one of the most beautiful kinds of cards.  It is just a card telling my friend that I love her and I miss her.

Thanks for stopping by!
