Happy Birthday
Earlier this week I told you that I like the sketch at Seize the Birthday and I truly meant it. See? I also made a masculine version of it:
I did spend a while thinking what to put next to the ovals but buttons are just perfect!
Here's the original sketch:
This card is also participating the challenge at Clear It Out Challenge - It's time to button up.
Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate today
I'm sharing a quick card today. It's a one-layer card and only stamping is involved. It is a representation of minimalist.
This card is entering the challenge at CAS on Sunday - round and round and The Paper Players - One Layer card:

Thank you.........for your understanding
This card is meant to show my gratefulness to all of you. If you think that my posts this week have been extremely short, you are right and I ask for your understanding. My eye has this weird condition and after seeing the doc and opthalmologist and receiving some treatment, it is still weird. It does not hurt much but it tends to dry really fast when I spend a lot of time on the computer screen. Thus, my posts have been short. Thanks for your understanding! I just started a new kind of treatment and I hope it will get better.
Onto today's card:
I always like Iwona's sketch at Sketchbook Saturday Challenge and this one is no exception:
Play along! It's really fun!

Graduation card for a gentleman
I said earlier that I'll need a couple of graduation cards today and this is the one for a young gentleman. I must say that the girly one is much easier to make. After having much struggle, this masculine one was done:
And here's the original sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

A masculine birthday card
I heard that many crafters share the same struggle with me - finding it difficult to make masculine cards. For me, one of the reasons for my struggle is that my paper supplies are mostly in feminine colors, then my embellishments are mostly flowers, butterflies and hearts...... How am I going to make a masculine card with them?
But I tried to overcome such challenge. There are so many important men in my life that I have to send them my greetings, I need to learn to become more comfortable making masculine cards.
I am sharing one masculine card today. It is made of the Authentique paper pack (Loyal) which is full of shades of blue and green:
It is based on a sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge:
This card is also entering the challenges at Dream Valley - Happy Birthday and Gingerloft - For the Guys.
So glad that I'm adding one masculine card to my stash. Happy crafting!

Dream
I need to make some graduation cards, some for boys and some for girls, and I want to make them more special and personalized than those off from the shelf. I've certainly started off with the girly ones first.
I have made this feminine one:
It says "Believe until your dreams come true" inside. Too bad I won't be send her a bouquet of flowers on her graduation day, so I'll send her flowers in this card. To make the flowers pop more, I've actually inked them in Buttercup then rocked and rolled them in Creme Brulee, so their outlines are more defined.
It is based on a sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:
and the color combo from Color My Heart Color Dare - Pear, Twilight and Buttercup, the subtle colors from my favorite paper pack, Chantilly!
Now I'm off to making the masculine graduation cards. Wish me luck!

Super Quick X'mas card
Just want to share a super quick and easy, clean and simple Christmas card with you today. It took me about 15 minutes, yay!
Here's the original sketch from CAS(E) this sketch:
I will tell you very honestly that sometimes I purposefully make a card/project with the goal of using up some products. I constantly feel guilty about my stash but the evil side of me continues to encourage me to buy more. Thus the angel in me must encourage me to use up some products from time to time.
Earlier this year I got quite a bit of washi tape as a prize. So glad that I finally got to try this product but I feel bad that after months all of them remain about the same size.
This card really helps me use some of the tape. The part that is most time consuming, believe it or not, is the stamping. It is one stamp but I wanted to have the tree in green while the star in yellow, so the masking and stamping did take some time. Nevertheless it took me only 15 minutes, I just can't complain at all!

Re-use
I like starting making a card with a sketch. I also like to use the same sketch for different purposes. A great sketch is a great sketch in that it can be used repeatedly for different purposes.
I really like the sketch the Deconstructed Sketch provided a couple weeks back and want to use it for a Mother's Day card.
This card is entering the following challenges:
1. The Pink Elephant - Use spring colors
2. Crazy 4 Challenges - Wooden accent
3. Black Tie Fridays - April showers bring May flowers

Yay! It's Friday!
I'm super excited as it is finally Friday! It has been quite a long week and so I am relieved that I can finally take some rest.
Before taking some rest I must whip up a card, right? I've used the sketch at Seize the Birthday to make a birthday card:
I really like this sketch and I think it can be used for a million things. Too bad that I've missed last week's feminine card challenge but I will definitely use the sketch for other cards! Why don't you also take this sketch and create a card?
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day
I have been checking out the challenges at Runway Inspired Challenge for a couple weeks but just never got a chance to play along. I'm finally going to make it this time! The picture shows a model in a yellow outfit, super cute! I was inspired by the color and made a Mother's Day card:
The sketch is one provided by Cardabilities:
Finally this card is also entering the challenge at Papercraft Star - use a stamp.
The paper I used came from My Mind's Eye (In Bloom) and I've used pretty much all the ones with a yellow monochromatic background, just I intended! The label, hearts and flourishes were cut by Cricut Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges. In fact, the label and two of the hearts were staggered with multiple layers of the same die cut - just a bit of dimension but mail-friendly! 1.

I'm using a wide variety of products to make this card and I love it!
The stamp set is one from Studio Calico. It's cute, isn't it? Thanks to the fabulous sketch provided by Just Us Girls:
I really like this sketch and I will probably make more cards with it!

Fusion Card Challenge
I saw this new challenge by chance and thought that I should as well play along! It is really interesting in that you could pick to participate in the sketch challenge alone, the inspiration challenge alone, or a combination of both.
I certainly like to challenge myself to take both at Fusion #1:
and it is such a huge challenge!
I turned to my newly acquired Avery Elle stamp set to make this card:
Difficult difficult difficult challenge and I'm glad that I've overcome it.
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Something different
Yesterday I shared a card made without using stamps. Today it's the opposite - it's all about stamping!
My inspiration came from Freshly Made Sketches and the inspiration photo from Inspired By.
The background is handstamped and I love the fun of stamping! Why this color combo? Check out the rainboots at the Inspired By challenge here.

Thanks
Please, please and please do not tell my stamps that I am in love with dies. I can't believe that I just made this card where no stamping was involved.

I used the scraps from the retired Grace paper pack, dies from Memory Box and Stampin Up! to make this card:

A Birthday Card
Oh no.......I have sore arms so it will be a quick post.
My card today is entering the challenges at Sketchbook Saturday Challenge and Black Tie Friday. The sketch looks like this:
and the color scheme is yellow and black:
My card made use of some paper in my stash:
Why did I get sore arms? It is my first time using the sizzlits and I'm afraid my big shot is not cutting it well. I've tried different combo of the plates but after a million attempts the doily was still not cut clean. :( This one is a result of adding a metal shim - acceptable but I am hoping for better. I really like this doily but I can't afford spending so much time and paper to have only one that is usable. If you have a tip on how to use the sizzlits, please share!

Playing with Patterned Paper
I'm in the mood of playing with patterned paper and making masculine cards. I just feel that I am always in need of them and I never have enough of man cards. What about a Father's Day card?
I'm glad that I can finally put this Authentique paper pack into use. It has been sitting in my stash for too long! The sketch of the card came from Deconstructed Sketch:
I like this sketch and it is giving me an inspiration for a card with a different theme. Let me work on that!
