Something different

Yesterday I shared a card made without using stamps.  Today it's the opposite - it's all about stamping!

My inspiration came from Freshly Made Sketches and the inspiration photo from Inspired By.

The background is handstamped and I love the fun of stamping!  Why this color combo?  Check out the rainboots at the Inspired By challenge here.

A Birthday Card

Oh no.......I have sore arms so it will be a quick post.

My card today is entering the challenges at Sketchbook Saturday Challenge and Black Tie Friday. The sketch looks like this:

My card made use of some paper in my stash:

Why did I get sore arms?  It is my first time using the sizzlits and I'm afraid my big shot is not cutting it well.  I've tried different combo of the plates but after a million attempts the doily was still not cut clean. :(  This one is a result of adding a metal shim - acceptable but I am hoping for better.  I really like this doily but I can't afford spending so much time and paper to have only one that is usable.  If you have a tip on how to use the sizzlits, please share!

Playing with Patterned Paper

I'm in the mood of playing with patterned paper and making masculine cards.  I just feel that I am always in need of them and I never have enough of man cards.  What about a Father's Day card?

I'm glad that I can finally put this Authentique paper pack into use.  It has been sitting in my stash for too long!  The sketch of the card came from Deconstructed Sketch:

I like this sketch and it is giving me an inspiration for a card with a different theme.  Let me work on that!

Calling for Organization

My desk is quite chaotic while I am in the creative mode.  I was checking if the yellow flower from here could be a good match on the card, then after I had all the pieces cut, I could not find the flower on my desk or under my desk.  Much time was spent on looking for it but it was MIA.  :(

So I've made another flower for this card:

You think at this point the flower would have appeared all of a sudden?  I wish but it did not.  I really need to be more organized when I am crafting.  No more cluttered craft area!

Another CAS Thank You card

OLW challenges us to use a geometic shape repeatedly on a card. It does not sound like the most challenging rule but, try it out and you may change your mind!

I first started thinking about what a geometic shape is.  I would really love to use hexagons but my stamp set has not arrived, so I've settled on circles.  I wasn't really sure whether a circle is a geometic shape as I think I took another class that focused on circles, eclipse and parabolas...........  Alright.  Let's forget about classes and focus on the fun!

So the result of the fun looks like this:

I've only used two stamps for this card - the circle and the sentiment.  I have used 6 colors for the circles and black for the sentiment.  The sentiment in black stands out quite nicely in the colorful circles.   

Yup.  This card will go to my other co-worker who works in a different office.  I've never met them and I doubt that I will.  Every time when there is someone who travels between the offices we will exchange a card and a small gift.  It means a lot to me and I must show them how I appreciate that.

CAS and CAS

CAS means Clean and Simple but it is also an acronym for Copy and Steal in our crafty world.  I'm sharing a CAS and CAS card today:

Yup, it is CAS, with a lot of white space and it is a one-layer card.  It is also a CAS card in a sense that I've copied a lot of the elements from Julie Ebersole's card, which is the muse for the challenge at CASE Study.  Check it out here.

I really like this card and it will go to one of my co-workers that work in a different office.
