Let's Meet Mr. Snowman

This week, two blog challenges ask that we use snowman on our projects.  I paused and thought, why have I not been using snowman more often?  Perhaps it is rare that where I live snows!

Having said that, snowman-building is fun and everybody loves it.   Before I can meet a live snowman this year, let's meet Mr. Snowman today on my card:

Love U

A disaster almost happened when I was creating today's card.

I have all the pieces cut out and ready to stamp on a letter each stamp .  Em, I got O, V, E and U, but where's L?  I was using L to measure the size of the stamp so I knew I had taken it out from the package but where was it?

It turned out that after I had cut all the pieces with my Cricut, I tried to be organized and put the Cricut mat away.  As I was doing so, the letter "l" was stuck to the back of the mat and it was "relocated" involuntarily to the bottom of the box that I kept my mat.

Glad that I found the letter.  Can't imagine what I should do with the alphabet set if I lose one letter.  What would you do?

Anyhow, onto today's card (Thanks for reading along).  I'm combinining the sketch challenge from Just Us Girls and the color challenge from The Play Date Cafe:

When I saw the four squares I wanted to fill in the word "LOVE" in each of the squares, so I've made a Valentine's Day card:

The color combo Black, White and Red in The Play Date Cafe challenge is a great combo and I've learned quite a bit from the participants that are using it for Christmas projects.  The sketch by Just Us Girls is very versatile too.  I'd like to make a masculine card that has a similar design but says "HB2U".  It should give it a lot of fun to try it out!

Ornaments

Apart from making Christmas cards, I also like to make some simple home decor items to enhance the Christmas feel!

Thanks to the Artiste cartridge it has become so much easier.  I'd like to share the paper ball ornament which was a lot of fun to make:

I'm going to put them in a big transparaent bowl, and perhaps hang the small ones in the tree.  Totally like making them and this has become my new addiction!

The paper ornaments are entering the challenge at Color My Heart #20 - asking us to use Cranberry, Smoothie, Olive and New England Ivy.  Pear and Partridge paper is just the perfect solution to the challenge!

Good Deals

Part of the preparation for Christmas is to look for good deals.  Don't you agree?

Starting today, there are many new items added to the While Supplies Last section in the Close to My Heart Shopping site.  Further, many pf the existing items have their prices dropped!

I just checked it and found many things I'd like: Sophia paper packet, Dreamin' paper pack with coordinating charms, Mischief paper pack with coordinating felt shapes, Mischief Rub-Ons, 4"x4" acrylic blcok at $5, Kraft Color-Ready Borders.

Christmas card again

Today's Christmas card takes advantage of a color challenge and a sketch challenge.  The color challenge is provided by Sunday Stamps while the sketch is provided by The Paper Players:

My Christmas card looks like this:

I do not have the requisite colors so I substituted with colors from the Close to My Heart palette.  The blue panel is stamped with snowflakes with White pigment ink and I think it adds a lot of interest to the card.  Stamping my own background paper is one of my favorites!  I also like the bow made with Black Waxy Flax gives it a little dimension yet flat enough to avoid extra postage.
