Calling for Organization

My desk is quite chaotic while I am in the creative mode.  I was checking if the yellow flower from here could be a good match on the card, then after I had all the pieces cut, I could not find the flower on my desk or under my desk.  Much time was spent on looking for it but it was MIA.  :(

So I've made another flower for this card:

You think at this point the flower would have appeared all of a sudden?  I wish but it did not.  I really need to be more organized when I am crafting.  No more cluttered craft area!

Another CAS Thank You card

OLW challenges us to use a geometic shape repeatedly on a card. It does not sound like the most challenging rule but, try it out and you may change your mind!

I first started thinking about what a geometic shape is.  I would really love to use hexagons but my stamp set has not arrived, so I've settled on circles.  I wasn't really sure whether a circle is a geometic shape as I think I took another class that focused on circles, eclipse and parabolas...........  Alright.  Let's forget about classes and focus on the fun!

So the result of the fun looks like this:

I've only used two stamps for this card - the circle and the sentiment.  I have used 6 colors for the circles and black for the sentiment.  The sentiment in black stands out quite nicely in the colorful circles.   

Yup.  This card will go to my other co-worker who works in a different office.  I've never met them and I doubt that I will.  Every time when there is someone who travels between the offices we will exchange a card and a small gift.  It means a lot to me and I must show them how I appreciate that.

CAS and CAS

CAS means Clean and Simple but it is also an acronym for Copy and Steal in our crafty world.  I'm sharing a CAS and CAS card today:

Yup, it is CAS, with a lot of white space and it is a one-layer card.  It is also a CAS card in a sense that I've copied a lot of the elements from Julie Ebersole's card, which is the muse for the challenge at CASE Study.  Check it out here.

I really like this card and it will go to one of my co-workers that work in a different office. 

This card is also entering the challenge at CAS on Sunday - Thank you card.

A Mother's Day card

Now that Easter is over I can move on to my next big project - Mother's Day.  I have made a couple but really have a long way to go.

I'm sharing this card today that made use of a wide variety of products:

This card is so fun to make!  I have used the paper, stamp, textile and buttons from Close to My Heart, ribbon and Die from Stampin Up! and a die from Memory Box.  I think they match quite well for this card and I love it!

Overcoming fear

In many cases the sketches at Sketchbook Saturday challenges intimidate me.  I am not good at multiple layers or sophisticated sketches.

However, I keep trying and that's one purpose of participating in challenges!  This time the sketch looks like this:

I thought of my Memory Box dies and tried it out with the retired Florentine paper packet:

I think it looks pretty good and I like it!  Yay!  Fear overcome!
