Tank you!

Happy Friday everyone!

It's been quite a week at work so I am more than ready for the weekend!  I'm going to my friend M's son, Z's 1st birthday party and I'll also meet up with an old friend.  I'm impatiently waiting for the fun-filled weekend.

While at my craft desk, I'm still playing happily with the new Lawn Fawn goodies.  I just constantly find new ways to use them.  Essentially, new combination of stamps from different Lawn Fawn sets.  This is one of my favorite things when I find more ways to use my stamps and supplies.  Who doesn't like to get more bang of the buck?

My card today focuses on the Fintastic Friends set:

It may not appear to be a lot different from this card to you but it does to me.  LOL.  I'll admit that they have very similar design but that card is a window card while this one is not.  This one has a bright orange background and dimensional elements while that one did not.  This one is a shaped card, which adds more interest.  One thing I like a lot about this, is that I've added a little turtle from the Lawn Fawn Year Two stamp set.  It was a birthday stamp set and how nice is it to blend with the Fintastic Friends set?  I love the fun from mix and match.  On a side note, I wear almost uniform-like attire to work and there's no fun putting together any outfit during the week.  On weekends, however, it's a different story.  I guess it's the lack of mix and match for clothing at work that makes me obsess with mix and match at stamping.  LOL.

You're So Sweet!

I hope you are not bored with my cards made with the new Lawn Fawn goodies yet because I'm sharing one more today:

I made a mistake when I ordered the goodies.  I thought I also ordered the coordinating die but alas, I did not.  I hope to make a window card with it but I'll just save it for a different time.

The gumball machine and the candy are just so fun!  Great opportunity to practice Copic coloring!  Of course I think my niece R will like it too!  Bright colors make everyone happy, right?

I spent quite a bit of time coloring the machine and the candy so I'm keeping the rest of the card simple.  Yes, if you've seen my card here you know that I'm using the same design.  Please allow me to cheat because after the coloring was done I didn't have a lot of time to prepare any fancy sketch.  Further, this is really a lovely sketch where the focus falls on the image in the middle.

You are just plane awesome!

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm sharing a creation using the new Lawn Fawn goodies again!  I just can't help it.  Lawn Fawn goodies are fun and I like that I could mix and match the new goodies with my existing collection.

The card I'm sharing today is exactly a mix of the new Cloud border die with the older Bon Voyage stamp and the alphabet sets:

Many of us agree that masculine cards are more difficult to make than feminine cards.  I need to make a masculine Thank You card.  I could make one with colorful graphic designs but then when I saw the newly arrived Lawn Fawn goodies in the mail I wanted to play with them instead!

So I dug out the Bon Voyage stamp and die set and started playing with it.  I think no men could resist a plane image on a card, right?  Wait.  Oops.  I meant to do Copic coloring but I forgot to use the Copic-friendly cardstock.  At this point I had already cut out the clouds so I just used my trusty Prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color the plane.

Then I dug out my alphabet sets - Milo ABCs and Clark's ABCs.  Yet after I've stamped "You are just plane awesome" I realized that I have the Lawn Fawn So Much to Say set which includes a sentiment "You're Awesome."  Had I remembered it earlier, I would have just used that sentiment rather than lining up the letters from the Milo's ABC set.  Oh well, it's just fine.

It's my first time using the cloud border die and I like it a lot!  I used it both on top and the bottom of my card, so versatile!

My card is entering the following:

Make a Wish!

I'm continuing to share the fun I have had with the Lawn Fawn new goodies.  Today's card is a birthday card:

I'll be honest that I was busing having fun coloring and constructing the scene then I totally forgot where to put the sentiment.  I mean, totally!  After I've placed the characters and their accessories on the card, then the clouds and the sun, I realized that I forgot to put down "Happy Birthday."  Oops.

"An opportunity to be creative," I told myself and took a deep breath.  I thought of using a banner across the bottom of the card and fortunately the sentiment from Party Animal "Make a wish" does fit in one of the banners.  Phew!

I am more than happy that this card is done, perfect for Z, whose 1st birthday will be held next Saturday! :)

Let's Ketchup!

Ever since I have received the latest Lawn fawn products, I am playing with them non-stop!  Today I'm sharing a summer-themed card that's perfect to send out to those I haven't seen for a while:

I love the images of this set called Let's BBQ.  The burger, hot dog, ketchup, steak, sausage all look too cute!  My favorite is the sentiment that says "we should ketchup".  I used the ketchup part and add "lets" from the Party Animal set (That sentiment says "Let's party") on my card.  I wanted to make it look like the ketchup bottle is being squeezed for to add ketchup on the hot dog, so I added two drops between them.  I am a bit concerned that it looks like Tabasco more than ketchup.  Oh well, the sentiment to clarify that. :)

Summer is traditionally the time that I meet up with friends from school.  I'm so happy that this set gives me a great opportunity to make a card like this that's perfect for the occasion.

Have an ice day!

Playing with the new Lawn Fawn sets again!

Today I'm mixing and matching the new Party Animal with the Christmas sets to make this card:

There are many things I love about Lawn Fawn stamps but one of my favorite things about it is the possibilities to mix and match stamp images from various sets.  It is really fun to create your own scene by using critters from different sets!

In my card here, I've used the bear from the new Party Animal set and the birdie from Winter Sparrows set.  The bear from Party Animal does not look like he is "cold" so I gave him a beanie and a snowflake from Critters in the Arctic set.  Oh he and the birdie standing on a piece of ice with a snowing background does suggest that they are playing in somewhere cold, right?  I can't resist giving him a word bubble from A Birdie Told Me and make him say "Have an ice day!".  I just can't tell you how much fun it is to pull images from various sets and mix and match them to create a one-of-a-kind scene!

Tank you!

Did you know that many stamp companies have just released a lot of new products?  WPlus 9, Avery Elle, My Favorite Things and Lawn Fawn!

I am very lucky to grab several items from Lawn Fawn and was excited to play with them this past weekend!

They stamp images give me a great opportunity to practice Copic coloring.  I am so happy with this card:

When the card is shut, you see two fish , some seaweed and a hermit crab.  It's actually a window card:

The two bigger fish on the acetate cover the smaller fish in the back:

I really like how fun it is - it looks great both open and close!  And yes it will go to someone who is very special!

Thanks (in 2 ways)

I'm doing my best to catch up with the assignments at Online Card Classes - Maskerade.  And let me be honest, I am sticking to the easier assignments now.  For those fancier techniques that bring gorgeous results,  I'll just have to save them for a time when I could focus on crafting but nothing else.

I'm continuing with the use of masking paper today.  Here's one that I use the positive die cut heart to mask off the card front to create a background:

Here's the one that I used the negative die cut heart:

The stamping part was absolutely fun.  I picked these bright colors so I can use them during summer.  Love how bright they are!

Here's a collage of both of them:

Which one do you like better?

Father's Day

I'm back with one more Father's Day card.  Yes, it is masking again - I just got to try out some of the techniques learned at the online class.

I pretty much CASed the teacher's card using my own supplies.  While Laura Bassen used a rainbow array of colors, I chose to stick with blues and greens.  I think they represent a safe color combo for a masculine card.  Don't you think?

DAD

Have you started preparing Father's Day card?

I have!  Inspired by Kristina Werner at Maskerade, I created this one by stamping to create a plaid pattern:

The stamp set I used is one from Papertrey Ink.  I like that it has different stripe patterns in the set and each of them is more than 6 inches long (definitely quite a bit longer than 5.5 inches).  The inks used here are from Hero Arts:  Cup O' Joe, Navy, Tide Pool, Green Hills and Cornflower.  I like this color combo and I think I'll use it for future masculine cards. :)

Birthday flowers

This blog was not given much love last week.  :(  It was more than a crazy week at work and I was so tired that I could not even get to my craft desk when I got home.

Even though I had signed up for the online card class Maskerade I didn't get to watch the videos during the week.  Well, I did try watching one or two with my tablet before I went to bad but I couldn't resist the temptation to fall asleep within 20 seconds of that.  Glad that I can watch them any time and anywhere I like.

So this past weekend I was just catching up with the videos and trying to do some of the assignments.  Here's one using masking paper:

It was really a CAS of Debby's card except I used totally different materials.  It is an easy and fun technique and I look forward to using it again soon!
